Lady in the Water is Available Today

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006 by Specter

Lady in the Water is a film of wonder, showcasing the amazing mind of M. Night Shyamalan. It takes you into a tapestry of wonder, and like all of his films, the pieces can be wound in many different ways. It is only as the movie draws near to the end that you understand that what the movie is about, isn’t what you thought in the first place. And when you realize what it is truly about, you can see the whole film in another light entirely.

‘Lady in the Water’ DVD Rumors and Tid-bits…

Monday, September 4th, 2006 by Dr Malcolm Crowe

Although ’Lady in the Water’ is just making it’s debut in many overseas markets, it has faded from many of the theaters in America. Thus the attention has turned towards the DVD release. ‘Lady in the Water’ DVD rumors are being talked about on many message boards across the Internet, and people are speculating about the release date, features, commentary, and other goodies. The Digital Bits is reporting in their “Rumor Mill” that ‘Lady’ is looking at a December 19th release date, and unconfirmed sources are saying that Shyamalan will be doing an audio commentary for the film. Shyamalan, who has somewhat spoken out against making commentary tracks for DVD’s, is said to be answering the critics during the commentary. Although I hope this doesn’t turn into Night going off on a rant against the critics, I am dying to hear him speak in detail about this absolutely wonderful movie. I can hear the giggles now

Empire Magazine – M. Night Shyamalan Interview

Friday, August 25th, 2006 by Dr Malcolm Crowe

The British film magazine Empire recently hosted a very interesting interview of M. Night Shyamalan. The interview was conducted at a local University for film and theater students, kinda like the British version of Inside the Actors Studio. Topics discussed revolve mainly around “Lady in the Water” and the process of filmmaking. Also, you might have heard about the interview in the forums, and how in it, Night talks about his idea for his next film. Well he does do so, briefly. He also explains his state of being after the U.S. reaction to “Lady”. You can hear it for yourself at Empire’s online website. The interview is in two parts and printed in text if you do not wish to download the MP3. There is slightly more things talked about in the MP3 version than in the print version, so I recomend listening to it if you can. Look for the link to ’download MP3 file.’ There is also a Paul Giamatti print interview as well, enjoy.

Warner Bros. Speaks About “Lady in the Water”

Monday, August 21st, 2006 by Dr Malcolm Crowe

Last year Warner Bros. President Alan Horn was at the top of his game. Boy wizard Harry Potter, eccentric candy maker Willy Wonka and crime fighter Batman catapulted Warner to its most profitable year.

Warner Bros. President Alan Horn, and his top production executive Jeff Robinov, had high hopes for Shyamalan’s $70-million ‘Lady in the Water,’ which sources estimate could lose $20 million to $30 million. The movie was panned by critics. Some observers also question whether Shyamalan, known for such hits as ‘The Sixth Sense,’ inadvertently sabotaged his movie by participating in a tell-all book published one day before the film’s release.
