Title: The Sixth Sense Script
Post by: Mr_Glass.1 on November 08, 2007, 03:09:15 PM
I was doing some Shyamalan research online and found a website that had The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs script, so I copied them to my computer, they're only for educational use.  I needed a real script to study, I want to be a filmaker, and so I copied them and read them.  I just thought it was very interesting how the script is so close to the final version of them movie.  I wonder how many rewrites Shyamalan makes until he's happy with the final script.  Shyamalan cut a lot of ghosts out of the final movie version, but where the ghosts are all cut out it would have been easy for Shyamalan to put them back in.  Okay, that was a very confusing post, sorry about that, my mind's in a jumble and that came out rather confusingly.

It made sense to me, MG. Btw, where did you find the scripts online? The only time I've ever been able to find scripts for educational purposes I had to pay for them. But that was ages ago, before the Internet was as big as it is now...

Night will go through a long time just jotting down ideas in a notebook he carries.  So, by the time, he writes the story, treatment and script, he knows basically what he's doing.

i know the sixth sense was re-written 5 or 6 times before Malcolm's character was even supposed to be dead.

Man, that's a lot of changes.  I write scripts and I usually have a general idea of what I want in my head, but I should start jotting down notes like Night.  That's a good idea.

from what i've read..it's not abnormal to have 5 or 6 re-writes.

No problem, there also is IMSDB, that has lots of cool scripts to read.  I heard X-2: X-Men United had three orginal drafts, then Singer picked the best one, but even after that there were like 20 more drafts.  Is that true?   ???
