Title: Beijing Olympics
Post by: Free Firelord on August 12, 2008, 09:48:42 PM
I saw the Opening cerimonies and they were amazing! There were actually 16,000 different performers!

This year I'm going to try and watch more of the olympics, which is hard since they  aren't showing Judo or Tae kwon do on t.v.

So anyone else been watching the Olympics?

I'm watching right now. Bela Couroli essentially just accused the Chinese government of cheating at womens olympic gymnastics, saying they faked the ages of the girls with government-issued documents. I wonder what the blowback from that will be.

MSNBC has a live feed, so you can watch all the events on your computer live. Only down side is that it all takes place at like 3:00 a.m. as a result of the time differences.

I just heard that the little girl who sang the Chinese national anthem was lip singing! The real singer of the song was a little girl who the Chinese government said "wasn't pretty enough" so they had a "prettier" girl lip sing the anthem!!!!!! That is just disgraceful!!!! The little girl who really sang the song is adorable (you can see her picture on google). Where do the Chinese get off telling 9 year old girls there ugly!!!!

Well, I'm pretty sure they were. There's almost no way some of those little girls were 16, and now they've found a news report from only 9 months ago saying that He Kexin (one of the Chinses team) was only 13...
And the date they list for her birthday, Jan. 1st 1992, seems a bit suspicious too. They could have been a bit more creative...

Anyway, I'm looking forward to watching the women's all around gymnastics tonight. The American men didn't do very well last night, maybe the women will do better.

I think it could be true.If you already have a high metabolism and you add on all that training,it may be possible. However, that's a lot of stuff to swallow :D
