I watched it for a lot of times too. It's a movie that you just don't get bored watching.... I love how M. Night integrated the flashbacks of Mr. Glass into the movie. In the sequel ı would wanna see some incernation of that. Maybe we can see Dunn's flashbacks...

What else is there to learn about his past? and..I think I've seen it like..4 or 5 times. BTW, read my post called "Unbreakable: Broken Down" in the unbreakable section.

Yes, everyone should! Anyone who is planning on watching Unbreakable again, look up my post "Unbreakable: Broken down"! it's in the Unbreakable section. I go over the uses of lines, camera angles, framing, lighting, colors, shapes, reflections and other things which are all used symbolically throughout the movie!

Hey Namaste, have you broken down any of the other superhero movies?

pssh..those aren't SHyamalan supr hero movies. However, I could do a breakdown on Heroes, the television series. There's a good bit of symbolism there.

Gee, ya think?  It's as if they write the script with a copy of "Archetypes for Dummies" in one hand.   :)

I disagree, I think most of the superhero movies are good, with good stories.  Granted they're not all as good as Unbreakable, but they are good.

I'd say maybe a dozen. But that was within the first two months that I bought the DVD. After that, not so much, maybe three-four times a month until about the first year, then I dropped to once a month... he does make other movies, so I have to make time to see them, too.

Possibly the single greatest comic book movie ever made, a superior example of how an origin story should be put on film, and there wasn't even a comic book to start with...

I agree that Mirage has seen it alot. But I kind of keep it watching it the same way he does...in spurts. I bought the Unbreakable CD a few months ago.

You mean the Unbreakable soundtrack, it's good isn't it, especially the main theme.

Yea it is. J. Newton Howard did an awesome job. I haven't figured out which track is my favorite yet.

Do you have any other soundtracks by James Newton Howard?
Title: Re: How many times have you watched Unbreakable

No, I don't. I've heard folks really like the Village soundtrack. And while I really, really like that movie...the sound didn't grab me the same way Unbreakable's did. I mean...I absolutely love how the music works in Unbreakable. For example, I love how the music changes in the weightlifting scene in the basement. I can listen to that over an over again.

Yesterday I watched it for the...I don't know...7th,8th time...but in original language, not in Italian and let me tell you: it was almost like watching another movie.I noticed that a few scenes (the beginning,in particular) are badly dubbed, and if it that happens, the whole movie lose something.Luckily, dubbing in general is good here, but some movies (THESE,in particular) have to be watched in original audio, too.

I believe all movies should be watched in their original language and audio. That was how they were meant to be seen. And besides, who do you think is better at delivering lines? A multi-million-dollar actor or a dubber who gets paid maybe 10 dollars an hour? That comes through, no matter what language it's in.

This is true, but NOTHING beats anime dubbing bloopers! lol Funny stuff.

agree with imalshen, especially with anime, indonesian dubbers is good....

This is not as simple as it seems. There are some good dubbers that are also actors,so they know what they're doing, but this is a small part of them.Of course,it's quite difficult for them to overcome the performance of an actor who played that role, but the final result is not so bad.
However,I'm going to watch some other movies in original audio to see if there are big differences or not.

He's a very popular voice actor for American dubs. And he's popular for a reason-his voice is awesome. He's also really nice to his fans.

Some of his more famous roles: Dark in DN Angel, Ed in FullMetal Alchemist, and Tamaki Suou from Ouran High School Host Club (that one was a bit too on crack for me but it was HILARIOUS). He's in a lot more stuff, some really famous Animes like Naruto and Bleach have him in them, and right now I'm watching a show called Kekkaishi and he plays the main character, Yoshimori.

So he is mainly an anime dubber. It makes sense,I suppose movie-dubbing is not so popular in the U.S.,land of movie-making  :D
However, they're all successful anime, maybe he's a bit like Luca Ward for us: he's probably the most famous Italian movie-dubber (he dubbed Reeves in The Matrix,Crowe in Gladiator and others, and also Samuel L. Jackson in many movies,Unbreakable included).

Sounds like a talented guy. :) Yeah, we don't have much dubbing for movies here-well, Bollywood and Asian films we do, but I've never been exposed to much Bollywood and I watch all my Asian films in the original language (Chinese without even subtitles to help me practice). I just watch Anime dubbed or subbed depending on which one I decide I like more. lol

I'm a HUGE fan of this movie...it is my favorite all time. I keep the DVD on my desk...so I watch it whenever I feel like it...which is a lot.

Is it your favorite?

I've lost count of how many times I've watched it. The first time I saw it, I thought it was just okay, but after the second time, it became one of my all time favorites.

so true. it's like most m. night films...there are so many little details and layers that you have to watch them more than once to notice them all.

I love that about his movies. I remember the first time I saw Unbreakable, with my brother and mum, like usual. lol Sean got it and was telling us all about it and I was entranced the whole time, and then didn't see it again for several years. Now I watch it like every few weeks. I always notice something I didn't see before.

You guys should all watch Unbreakable after/while reading my post "Unbreakable: Broken Down" in the Unbreakable forum on this site. I've made a lot of comments on the lines and colors and camera angles in the movie (Shyamalan really used them effectively, and consistently)

I keep it with the rest of my superhero movies, and I love it when people come in and are looking through my movies are are like, "what's that?"  Then I'm like, "You've got to check it out, it's one of the best superhero movies out there."  They usually end up liking it after watching it.

I know what you mean! It's amazing how few people know it's out there, and I don't know anyone who didn't like it. It's just so smart!

'Smart' is so true. Genuis-yes. Underrated for sure. I read comics when I was a kid...I read lots of stuff. I was a big sci fi and sports fiction fan. But I wasn't a collector or anything. I loved orginal cartoon Spider Man TV series...and I watched the Justice League...I thought the 1st Spider Man movie (Toby Macguire) was really good...andd I loved the 'Heroes' first season...but I never really considered myself 'the comic book' guy.

But this movie...makes the other stuff feel like 'kid stuff'. It is just that good.
