 Hello to you all.

I am a Brazilian fan of Mr. Shyamalan. Here his films tend to be very successful. Basically, I was blown away by the quality of his first worldwide hit - The Sixth Sense - and since then I became an admirer of his work. Unbreakable is criminally underrated (and so is the depth of the film), Signs is great fun and The Village is as relevant as it is fascinating.

This is the only quality MNS site I've found so far, so that's why I'm here.

Hey everyone! I've been a big fan of Night for less than a year now...before I was  just a fan of Sixth Sense and Signs and didn't even make the connection that it was the same writer/director, nor did I know that he was the doctor in 6th Sense and the guy that killed the wife in Signs. I don't pay attention to details I suppose.  :P  After seeing the mocumentary, The Buried Secret, early one morning by accident, I became intruiged with Night and researched him on the internet and went and rented his films and re-watched them with new found appreciation. I may have jumped on the Night train a little later than most of the people on here, but I'm really happy to have become a fan and I am happy to have found a new site for him.

"Pi (short for Piscine Molitor Patel) is a young Indian boy growing up in South India in the 1970's. His father owns a zoo and, with increasing political unrest in India, decides to sell up and emigrate to Canada. In true Noah's ark fashion, they accompany the wild animals on board the ship on their journey to the new zoos in North America.

The ship sinks and Pi finds himself the only human survivor onboard a life raft that contains, rather remarkably, a zebra, a large motherly orangutan, a frenzied hyena and... a 450 pound Bengal tiger.

Of course, the law of nature eventually rules and Pi ends up as the tiger's last remaining occupant. He must use all his knowledge of zoology and animal behaviour to create boundaries and survive. Which he does for 227 days."

just joined the site a few days ago. I thought of doing this when I first saw Lady in the Water. The movie moived me even more than Unbreakable did. M Night's movies tend to make me think about life and my purpose in it and once again, I was affected.
Somehow though, I was touched more so than I've been with the other movies. So I immediately went online to encourage people to dismiss the bad reviews and to take a peak for themselves.
Undoubtedly, Lady in the Water is the most underrated movie I've ever seen. Very moving and inspirational.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum, so I guess I'll introduce myself.
My name is Myth and I'm sixteen. Ever since I was twelve M. Night has facinated me. I am a writer and I hope to be a director like M. night is.

Every one of his movies inspire me as a christian and as a writer. I idolize him and his skills as a writer and director. I especially love his latest film: Lady in the Water. I love the fantasy genere and when M. Night mixed it with a chilling theme and an exellent message it became the bigest inspiration to my writing.

M.Night is simply my hero. That's the best way I can put it.

Hello there, my name is Erik. I'm 18 years old and I live in a middle sized town (for Dutch standarts) in Holland, called Leiden. Right now I'm studying mechenical engineering at the The Hague University. It's a hard study, but I enjoy it!

An other thing I enjoy is playing and listning to music. I've been playing guitar for a few years now. Maybe I'll be playing with my band in your city soon...but I doubt it ;)

An other thing I like, well actualy I'm just getting started with it, is writing movie scripts. At the moment I'm producing a 3D Animated short movie which I wrote, called Bumpy Ride. More about that soon.

As you can see, I'm a boy with megalomania who doesn't know what to do with this time or future. I hope I find out soon ::)

Anymore questions? You know where to find me!
Greetings, Erik!

Don't really know how to discibe it, but the word discibes me as 'thinking that I'm like the greatest' or something. I mean, I want to become a director, an rock star, or a mechanical engineerer (in which I want to dising rollercoasters, didn't tell you that before). How big is the chance that I actually become one of those 'dreams'?

Hey Erik, welcome aboard.  Hope you enjoy the site.  What with your little Avatar, doesn't make any sense.  ??? ;D  With those three, work hard and I'm sure one of them will work out for you.  My older brother loves roller coaster, even rode Kingda Ka at a Six Flags in New Jersey, the one that goes somewhere around 450 feet in the air and starts at about 120 miles an hour, or something crazy like that.  Now he's trying to become a mechanical engineer and join the military.  Anyways, sorry about that, ended up talking more about my brother.  Welcome aboard the site.

Right now, I'm jalous of your brother! :o
The Kingda Ka must rule!

Anyway, thanks for the welcome word!

EDIT: O yeah, about my avatar: it's my guitar, seen from the top with my hands on the strings. If you know that, you'll see!

Hello fellow Shyamalan fans!

My real name is Mark and I live in England. I am 28 years old.

I have been a fan of Night's work for many years and love all his movies (yes even The Happening, although its clearly his worst).

At the moment I have a really boring job working for the environment agency.

Hey, I didnt know there was an intro thread !  I'm a big shyamalan fan; the village is my second fav movie of all time (after gattaca). I know I look like i've been here for a long time, but it's only been about 4 days or so (I promise I'm not spamming..check out my posts. they are very interesting :D) I'm happy to be here, discussing shyamalan with people who actually GET HIM for a change. I was stressing out trying to tell average people about his movies lol.

Welcome Namaste, I'm here since some months and have posted less than you, but it?s because right now I'm supposed to be working  ;D
Maybe you had so much to say about Shyamalan that you posted it so fast. Anyway, I've read some about your posts and opinions and are interesting. I like to know cuoriosities and things I didn't know about these movies. I'm just a simple fan of the director, so don't have many news or interesting things to tell you all, just like to express my opinion and sometimes I an tell you my spanish point of view.
Welcome

Hello again

I've been out of town for bit, am back now.

I am guessing then that this guy was full of it.

He also stated that many producers will buy the rights to Story out lines. That there are companies that sell the basic or rough lay outs of a story.  Then hire writers to complete them. This would still make it the writers creation. This guy also stated that it is a common thing. even with it being probable balonie perhaps it possible? If it were true would you ever hear about it? :P

Was just saying that there is no "story by" on rap sheets for 6th sense through the happening.
I meet a writer that said that he is the guy that came up with all the storys. Then M night was given the storys to write the scripts and direct

Thought that this was very interesting, wondered if anyone else had heard about this?

sorry to jump in to the topic with out a proper intro.

Any ways love M nights work just thought this was an interesting tid bit of info.

I suppose I should introduce myself before I start talking.

I am PR, a fan of M. Night and pretty much anything he does. But I should probably say this: I have always watched his movies from a neutral standpoint. I love him as a director enough to accept that he is not flawless and that I have be willing to accept his weaknesses.

He is a great director and I am happy to be a part of his fan site.

Hi all.
I'm very happy to have found this forum. I was seriously getting tired of all the MNS bashing that goes on at pretty much every other film forum.

My name is Mike, I'm a composer of classical music, and a HUGE film maniac.
And M. Night Shyamalan just so happens to be responsible for nearly half of my "top 10" list.

I am also a huge fan of James Newton Howard, so doubly ecstatic that this forum recognizes his invaluable contribution to MNS's films.
