Yep!  I can't wait for The Village to hit Blu-ray! ;D

Me too. I wish they would announce it soon... especially considering the fact I think it is M. Night's best movie audio/visual wise.

I have yet to get a Blue Ray player, but when I buy a new DVD player, it will most likely be Blue Ray, the downside is the cost, especially for the DVD's.

You can get a good Blu-ray player for just over $200, and if you buy Blu-ray discs at Amazon.com, you can usually get them for about $20 on average (and even cheaper for older titles).  Even better, you'll be helping this site out if you purchase them through the MNightFans.com Amazon shop (http://www.mnightfans.com/mnfans/amazonshop.php).  Prices in general have been falling (...my first Blu-ray player cost $600), so things are looking up.  I can't recommend Blu-ray highly enough.  It is simply amazing.  Yeah, this is coming from an audio/visual nut, but that's okay. :D

I'm probably going to end up waiting until it becomes a little more widespread, then go out and buy it.

Or I could just go over to my friend, who has a PS3.

Blu-ray is an optical format (like CD, DVD) for playing high-definition movies.  The sound and picture quality is vastly superior to DVDs.  In most cases, it provides quality superior to what you see at a theater.

I saw Signs in HD on tv. It looked amazing. And that was through cable, which is pretty compressed. I can only imagine what the uncompressed (sorta) image from the Blu-ray would look like.

Soon...  :P

Here are some screenshots from the Blu-ray disc:

You have to register to see them full resolution, but I think it's worth it. :)

My dad has a theater room in his house which I go to quite often and watch movies. It has 7.1 surround sound and a Blu ray player and an HD projector that projects out onto an 84 inch screen. Well, I watched the Sixth Sense on Blu ray up there and the sound is FREAKING AMAZING. It sounded so awesome. The picture was excellent too. Couple shady spots they could've worked out a bit better, but for the most part it's an awesome Blu ray, especially the sound. It's so much more distinct then a DVD. Really incredible.

But yeah, I agree with everyone else on here. A Village Blu ray would be incredible. I don't know why they'd have a Lady Blu ray but not a Village one. Hopefully it'll come out in the next year.
