I think the character of Cole Sear is a bit more complex, and is the best acted role ever in a M. Night film IMO. However, this is the popularity contest and Merrill is def the cooler character.

So true. Merrill is awesome. Cole is arguably the best character out of Night's mind, but Merrill is simply a likable guy. He's my second favorite character, in fact. Though, I have to admit, I didn't expect him to come out on top.

I also can relate more to Merrill being a younger brother and all. One of my favorite lines in Signs is when Merrill says:

"There are a lot of things I can take, and some things I can't. But what I can't take is when my older brother, who's everything that I want to be, starts losing faith in things. I saw that look in your eyes last night. I don't ever want to see that look in your eyes again."

I think that is my favourite line of the movie.  So well delivered.

Yeah, that and the conversation between Graham and Bo on the bed are probably my favorites.

Graham: What are you thinking about?
Bo: Why do you talk to Mom when your by yourself?
Graham: Makes me feel better.
Bo: Does she ever answer back?
Graham: No.
Bo: She never answers me either.

Love it.  ;D

The bit when Graham is trying to cuss makes me wet myself.

Metaphorically, not literally.

LoL! I love that line! I also love when Merrill has the conversation on the couch with Graham. When he tells him about the party, I laughed my butt off! :D

Oh man, this movie has some of my favorite humor in a movie ever, it's so dry, and understated, but great.   Like when Merrill is telling to kids on TV in Spanish to move, that's great.  Some of you already mentioned other funny scenes, another one is when Graham wakes up and finds Merrill in the closet infatuated with the TV, Merrill tells Graham that he moved the TV because the kids were too into it.  He tells them to go play furry furry rabit, tea party, that's just great.
I see the world Lucius Hunt, just not the way you see it.
