How to get a PWA!?
« on: January 03, 2008, 01:37:03 AM »
 :)
Hey just joined the site!  YEAH!

I read an old posting about M. Night Fans buying coppies of "Praying with Anger" on a site named Eurofilmsltd.com!  How and where can I get a copy of this movie!?!?!?!?!  I went onto the website, but couldn't figure it out and didnt know if there were copies even availible!  Where I live I can't get wireless internet, and still have dial up, so loading sites like those take tons of time!

Can anyone that owns a copy, or knows how to get one tell me how to get one!?  PLEASE!!
Thanks!

I haven't heard of any recent methods of getting a hold of the film.  :(

I don't think I've ever seen a way to get ahold of the film, except maybe in an art house.

It has to be out there somewhere!  What do you mean by art house?  Like a rental store?

It's kind of like a rental store, it's usually somewhat hard to find, and out of the way.  It takes old movies, or new ones that just never got out there and stores them, usually to buy, sometimes to rent.  It's a place where art (that is film) is kept for collectors and people trying to find movies that are hard to get.  I don't know if anyone else has heard of them.  Also, I might not have all of this information correct, so sorry if I'm wrong.  I'm pretty sure it's all correct though.

I just made my first post in the Poll section regarding this title.  I have PRAYING WITH ANGER on DVD.  I sent a copy to our web and forum master.  So copies can now be spread around.

Contact me if interested -- and if you want some serious cinema podcasting, check out our show THE HOLLYWOOD SALOON (www.hollywoodsaloon.com).  We will be doing a big Night show this summer.

Thanks,
JJansen

Though I really want to see the movie, I don't think that is the correct way.
First of all, I'd like to have the real DVD, not just a home made copy. Second, is this legal?

Yes, I'm not sure if that's legal, but thanks for the info.

You can find PRAYING FOR ANGER for rental at LE VIDEO in San Francisco.  It is a PAL transfer to VHS tape.  It is the only known copy I've been able to track down.  It has not yet appeared on DVD in any region -- and I don't when it ever will.  So for now, if you want to actually SEE the film, this is the only way.

I think trading rare materials among fans -- and never selling -- should be encouraged.  Once the official release comes out, I will be happy to purchase.  Until then, this is all M. Nights fans have.

I just wanted to spread the M. Night treasure I have discovered to other fans.  From reading these boards, I was not alone in wanting to find a copy of this film.  So once I did, my first thought was to share with other fans.

Hope this helps!

I spent nearly 1000 dollars buying this as a collectors item from Europe. It was in pal format and I have since Remastered it to Blu-Ray. NO It isnt legal to go making a profit off of it. especially with out the Permission of M. Night. M. Night had this movie recalled as it was his debut film straight out of College. If M. Night Him self were to offer me money for it I would turn him down. If someone can get permission from M. Night for me to Share this video I will. I wish you all the best of luck finding it. I bought this movie nearly 13 years ago. Quite honestly I hope M. Night does contact me. Id love to have his signature on the original PAL video box.

Try contacting him. Sam Mercer (producer who works a lot with M. Night) is on Twitter, and maybe you can even find him here:

http://www.mnightfoundation.com/
Probably an e-mail to info@mnight...com would do, but I think you will get an answer by a secretary instead of Night himself.

I hope you get a permission to share the movie, I'd love to see it :)
