Night's Act III dialogue
« on: March 08, 2008, 12:21:44 PM »
In several of his movies, Night's dialogue in ACT III is off the charts good.

I don't mean to sound like a softie, but every time I see certain scenes of his movies, they strike a chord.

For example:  Signs - the entire ending sequence from Graham's recollection of his wife's conversation to the point where Morgan is resuscitated.
The Sixth Sense - the entire conversation between Cole and his mother when he reveals his secret.
Unbreakable - The final scene with the breakfast table and the newspaper between Bruce WIllis' and his son...no dialogue really, but the facial expressions and the newspaper article.

To me, these are brilliantly written dialogue that really complete the emotional experience of the movie.  Everytime they touch a nerve.

Yes, that is my aspiration, to write scripts like Night does, to have that kind of dialogue, or lack thereof.  Well put MrStone.

I don't know, Mrstone, but I know you are making an point here. Ah, that's from SIGNS, when Mel says to officer.

You are making a good point.

I definately think Night's dialogue is amazing, wish I could write like that, it also looks like were going to get more of that in about a month.

I saw a new trailer this week - a slight spin off of the longer one.  It really does look scary - and i've read the script.

That's sweet, I'm not going to read the script, but if you guys say it rocks, and you've read the script, then I know it will.
