My second feature film-Black Lightning
« on: April 13, 2008, 10:51:03 AM »
I'm editing this. The full film is now available online from IMDb for free to view. Check it out right here:

Hello all. This is a place for us smaller filmmakers without Mel Gibson and the entire Disney studio backing us up? That's just fine. I'm 18 and am about to graduate high school, and I'm just about finished with my second feature film. Check out the trailer here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=OrZ4L60FRZo and let me know what you guys think. I actually think it has a chance.

It looked allright, not to be annoying or anything, but is there anything in there besides guns, killings, sex, and fould language.  Is there a moral or story behind it all, or is it just a shoot em up movie.  The preview was interesting, I liked how it introduced all of the characters and explained a little about them.

For an amature movie, this one looks good. You can see that you're inspired by films such as Pulp Fiction (especialy the scene in which you can see a filmposter of PF on the background), and I hope that the movie doesn't contain clich?s and stuff. But I think that'll be alright.

The trailer shows me enough, it just makes you to want to see the movie! Nice job!

Well usually, most of my short films and the other feature I mentioned are pretty personal and "deep," and I usually take time in crafting the screenplays and doing something really good with them. But with this one, I just wanted to go all out over-the-top exploitation, just to try it and do something different. My next one will be completely different, and the one after that will be as well. I just like to experiment and go in different directions. Thanks for the feedback!

Oh, okay I get it, interesting, I never thought of testing something by pulling all the stops.  Huh, I get you though.  Still, it looks well made.

Thanks. We've sent it into a few festivals so far, but haven't heard back on any yet.

Thanks. We just got a call back from the first festival. The festival director personally called us to congratulate us. I've never had that happen to me before. He liked it that much.

Thanks a lot. I just got the word back that it was nominated for an award there as well-- "Best Ridiculously Good Movie" I believe it's called, which I think is pretty much the same as best comedy.
