Universal Studios on fire
« on: June 01, 2008, 12:33:33 PM »
Aproximly 3 houres ago (08:00, LA time) a fire started on the Back Lot of the Universal Studios Hollywood park. Just in a few moments the fire became really huge, sucking up the intire Back To The Future set, the King Kong set, the New York Street set and the Ghostwisper. All these sets are destroyed.
Also the Video Vault is on fire, the plastic containers of the video's are 'causing a huge cloud of smoke above Hollywood. Local authorities are telling people to stay out of the cloud. The plastic gasses  The destroyed area is about two blocks big! The smoke

More than 300 fire-fighters are working on the scene to fight the fire from every angle. The fire seems to be under control now, but half an hour ago it was lighting up again. There are 4 fire-fighters hurt during the fire, three of them have minor injuries, the fourth has unknown injuries. There where no Universal employees injuried and the park wasn't open yet, so no visitors where hurt.

I'm watching/listning to FOX television right now on the internet. The report is quite shocking for me as a theme park and movie fan! I mean, I work in a theme park and this is my worst nightmare!

Saw this on tv around lunch time. Pretty sad that all of those classics got burnt to a crisp.  :-\
