Hulk fans defending The Happening and Night
« on: June 15, 2008, 02:44:17 PM »
Over on comingsoon.net in the article about the box office this weekend (appearntly TH is at 30 mil now :) ) there is a lot of hulk fans defending The Happening, talking about how they liked it a lot. And they are defending Night saying people dont give him a fair chance and that people go into this film wanting to hate it just because people hold a grudge against m night and refuse to open their minds. I just thought that was cool of them.

That's very cool of them, and encouraging.  It's nice to see that not everybody dislikes Night.  I plan on seeing The Incredible Hulk next week, it looks good.  Though not as good as The Happening. ;D

Maybe its just me, but this has been a weird weekend in terms of response to "The Happening".  it seemed that, at first, there was nothing but negative things being said about the movie and Night (I thinl people take a lot of cheap shots at the guy with nothing to really back it up).    But then, as the weekend progressed, more people started coming out of the woodwork and saying how they didnt think it was that bad.  What am I getting at?  I'm not really sure, except that perhaps the "haters" are more prone to jump on the hate train  as quick as they can than regular people saying what they thought.

Yep, I agree with you Wags, it's always easier to say you dislike something, then to say you like it.  When I walked out of my theater I would say that about 2 out of every 3 people liked it.  Also, not very many people disliked it.

Yeah, I agree. People really seem to be going after Night from the get-go. I don't think it's fair. Did any of you see Ebert and Roeper the other day? Richard Roeper feels the same way we do. I'm surprised he actually enjoyed "The Happening."
