Well, Aang is supposed to be twelve, but considering this is the acting business, I'm guessing they'll go older.

You want to film an 11 year old or 12 year old because of the hormonal change that kicks in at 12 or 13.

Usually these days 12 year olds looks like 9-10 year olds. Everyone looks younger these days for some reason... (maybe its just me)

Oh, yeah, they're going to have to cast a short young-looking teen, or tall old-looking boy.

That will be hard.

'Cuz we don't our Aang to grow a foot and get acne every where inbetween movies, ok!

Maybe are maturity just makes us look younger :-X

If aang is shown as a 11 year old boy, he might get a growth spurt...  :o
Harry Potter guy is 19  ::)
Also, kids can portray people younger, but not older, has anyone noticed that??  ???

^^ haha yah I do remember that

There probably is going to be a lot of movie magic used in this film when dealing with actors/actresses of such an age range due to like growth spurts, voice changes, etc. I remember reading in this Narnia interview that Skandar Keynes who played Edmund grew something like 6 inches during filming (they had to keep extending his outfits) and at the end, his voice dropped so low his sister had to do his lines near the end of the film  :o

Mike and Brain said that if Aangs voice actor had gone through puberty and his voice changed during the series they would have made an episode about it! That would have been funny, especially the Ty Lee part :o

^^ haha if that had happened, that would have been quite a memorable episode!

I still hope that the live action actor who plays Aang will have a relatively similar voice to the the voice actor from the show, but that'll be pretty near impossible
