Making Fun of M Night Shyamalan
« on: August 17, 2008, 01:33:22 AM »
Hope you don't get too offended. Even though he is my favorite director, I do love rip-offs of his movies! No one is perfect, and a lot of times that imperfection is right in front of us, even if we like everything too much to see it.

There's a website that I look up for "abridged scripts". It's basically a total rip on the movie either using or close-to reincarnations of scenes, actions, and dialogue. This is the link to the main site of this great website: http://www.the-editing-room.com/

Rod Hilton has made mock-abridged scripts of every popular M. Night Shyamalan movie (The Sixth Sense to The Happening). Here are the links to them (in chronological order):

The Sixth Senseless: http://www.the-editing-room.com/sixthsense.html
Unwatchable: http://www.the-editing-room.com/unbreakable.html
Swines: http://www.the-editing-room.com/signs.html
The Swillage: http://www.the-editing-room.com/village.html
(Hmm, I thought they made a Lady in the Water spoof, but I guess it was too easy to make fun of [joking!])
The Crappening: http://www.the-editing-room.com/the-happening.html

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it. He's really good at what he does - go check out some of the others, you'll laugh, trust me.

Maybe because he's an easy target, he doesn't want to be in the spotlight, so he doesn't get in fights.
I see the world Lucius Hunt, just not the way you see it.

That's one of the things that makes him so interesting, you know very little about his personal life, just the work he does.

actually, we know very little about shyamalan's work, too. we can only see the results of his work and guess about how it came to be. he's very secretive about his methods and will probably never do a director's commentary on one of his original films.  Oh, and those abridged scripts just get better and better as they go. I'm on signs right now and it's the best yet.

"M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN

I ran your wife into this tree in much the same way as I have run my manipulative directorial style into the ground."
See the villain's larger eyes insinuating a just-off-normal perspective on how they see the world? I see signs Lucius Hunt; just not as you see dead people. I am so very happy we saw..each other, and no I will not tell you what color love is. Stop asking.
