I saw a Movie with a Great Twist Ending
« on: November 04, 2008, 05:38:27 PM »
I saw the movie The Haunting of Molly Hartley and it had an amazing twist ending like he did in Sixth Seanse and Unbreakable.
What happened? Signs was good and I liked not loved the Village.  I think his last two movies stunk. I think he should watch the movie
I mentioned and remember how to do a great twist ending like he used to.

M. Night doesn't want people to predict his movies. If he ends in a twist ending, every time, people would predict his movies. No one should see a twist ending coming.

Yeah, that's why he's tried to steer away from twist endings.

Yeah. No more TWIST endings from M.Night. Critics and many people's minds are twisted, they all think that all his movies are horror and has twist endings.

I definately think Devil is going to be scary, what with those writers and producers.  Though I could be wrong.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a twist ending if you don't expect it.  Night obviously knows how to write a surprising twist, and I don't think he should refrain from using a one if he can throw the audience off guard.  I do agree, however, that not all movies call for twist endings.  And Night doesn't NEED to use one if it's not completely necessary.
Do you think you could beat up Bruce Lee?  I mean, if you knew karate?  What if he wasn't allowed to kick, and you were really mad at him?

He needs to be careful though not to scare himself away from twists completely.

I agree with the two above comments. If the writing of the movie script is really well done and the directing is good a twist ending can work. The hard part is tricking the audience. I may be wrong on this but many of Alfred H. movies had a twist ending, and they were pretty good. So were many of the Twilight Zone episodes on TV. Night does not always need a twit at the end of his movies, but sometimes the story could play out better with one.
Well do have him come forward.

Yes, but the problem is when people go into the theaters expecting his movies to have twist endings, and when it doesn't they're dissapointed, or they figure out the twist and they're still disapointed.
