controversy or not? Be the judge.
« on: January 08, 2009, 05:32:01 AM »
when news of the live action airbender movie got out fans were ecstatic.  many wanted to find out who the cast would be. the white cast came as a shock to many and even sparked a controversy.  angry fans out as far as sending petition letters to paramount pictures.  now i ask, does paramount think that it has found the right cast, or is it a conspiracy to get people talking about the movie?

I think they would get in big trouble to lie to the public, but then again, it wouldn't be the first time M. Night's lied.

Even if it was a lie, wouldn't it be kinda like nintendo or apple when they say that they aren't releasing a product when they really are?

actually, what i was trying to discuss is whether the casting was done to attract more people or for artistic reasons. not that the cast was fake or not.

i think it had something to do with his documentary "The Buried Secret of M. Night Shyamalan".

I gave it some more thought and it seems more like a cross between attractive and artistic virtues...

This is what I meant: (I posted this somewhere else a while back.)

Remember when Shyamalan was at a convention back in June...I think it was called "The Entertainment Expo 2008". It was a while back, and he said "Casting has begun and we've seen thousands of kids, and I think we've found the next superstars." Those words were lies. First of all, casting hadn't begun, it wouldn't be for more than another month until auditions started happening. Therefore, they never saw thousands of kids, and they hadn't found the next superstars.
