those we do not speak of , really?
« on: June 05, 2009, 07:39:45 AM »
I love M Night and the Village is one of my favorites.
My son and I have watched The Village countless times but one time watching it struck us funny how often they say "those we do not speak of".   Now evertime they say "those we do not speak of" we yell "but mention in every scene!" and then we laugh like idiots.  Or when we are out somewhere and my son won't sit still I say "don't jostle about so!" and then he laughs .  Many others - that's just a few of our favs.  I know... we've lost it  ;D

"you'll wrinkle my shirt" bahaha

and yes I have noticed they speak about TWDSO an awful lot, heh. I've mentioned it before in some thread...
See the villain's larger eyes insinuating a just-off-normal perspective on how they see the world? I see signs Lucius Hunt; just not as you see dead people. I am so very happy we saw..each other, and no I will not tell you what color love is. Stop asking.

Agreed, my family also noticed that line in The Village, for not speaking about them, they sure do speak about them a lot.
I see the world Lucius Hunt, just not the way you see it.

It is funny that "those we do not speak of" is always talked about. That might be an inside joke put in the writing? Not sure, but it is funny. They are doing capital with that line.
Well do have him come forward.

After watching this film again and looking at that "Those we do not speak of" line, I think the movie could have been titled "Those We Do Not Speak Of."
Well do have him come forward.
