Oh, I agree, with both your comments about Gran Torino and Slumdog Millionaire.  A.R. Rahman did a good job, but James Newton Howard should have won the oscar for best original score that year.

JNH? - I totally forgot about him I am sorry can you remind me what movies he worked for last year? - TDK? -  thanks..

That year he did Mad Money, The Happening, The Dark Knight, and also, what he was nominated for but did not win-Defiance (an absolutely gorgeous score).

Defiance score is awesome. Love it.

Yeah, I agree, an outstanding score, and it should have won.  You know James Newton Howard doesn't have a single oscar to his name, but I know he's one of the best because he is one of the most used composers in all of hollywood.

Hopefully. JHN deserves a nomination and an award.

Wow,Clint Eastwood ignored one more time...At least they put The Hurt Locker. However,I can't say so much because I haven't seen most of the nominated movies.I'm glad for Coraline in the animation, but probably the Oscar will go to Up.
We have to wait till March the 7th for the winners.

I am happy for THE HURT LOCKER with 9 Nominations and hope it wins the best picture and director. I'm upset that THE ROAD was not even nominated while it deserves the best picture, best actor and best cinematography definately. In a way Weinstein is one I blame here for delaying the movie over and over.

Yeah, when I looked at the nominations I had a feeling you would be ticked off about the Road not getting any nominations.

Yep. I go for THE HURT LOCKER and as far as THE ROAD is concerned - it is one of the best films ever made. It doesn't get any depressing and dark than the THE ROAD.

I'm surprised that DISTRICT 9 in nominated. It is a good movie and I love it.

I knew it would get nominated for special effects, but I guess with the expansion of the best picture category it got in there too.

There was an article on yahoo movies about actors and films that didn't get nominated and should have, Viggo Mortensen from The Road was one of them.
