Daniel Stamm is the director?
« on: August 31, 2010, 05:04:11 PM »
The director of The Last Exorcism has said this at an interview in London.  Looks like he may be the 12 Strangers director:

"My next project is a supernatural thriller and it?s not going to be shot in documentary style. One of my favourite filmmakers in the world, whose (sic) a legend, is producing it. (It's) an idea of his that another writer is writing and I?m going to direct. It has a twist in the ending, without giving away who it is."

Can someone shed spotlight on Stamm's previous work. Are they any good?

His IMDB page revealed very little. I've never seen no heard of any of his work, save for the exorcism movie that's coming out. And I won't see that, it's not my thing. Though it looks pretty well done from the trailer.

Guess we'll just have to see! :)

Daniel Stamm definitely fits the bill for the criteria for being a Night Chronicle's director in that he is a young up-and-comers.  His IMDB page only has 3 titles: 2 of which are faux-documentaries, and the other is a short film.

I am very interested to see what the man can do, seeing as how his forte doesn't appear to be a straightforward narrative.

Hear hear! Straightforward is over-rated!  ;D

Let's just trust in M.Night and let's wait how DEVIL turns out. If DEVIL turns out to be one of those cool movies then Daniel Stamm can easily fits the bill in our hearts. At least in my heart. And speaking of LAST EXORCISM I am not intrigued by it at all.

Alright then, we've got some new news!

Besides the director, we now know that Twelve Strangers will be in documentairy style and will contain a twist ending.
I have strong believes that Devil contains a twist ending too!

Actually, according to his quote, doesn't it say it will NOT be in documentary style?

12 Strangers may have twist ending or not, but it doesn't necessarily mean DEVIL will have twist ending. I think the film will end normally,  basically with no DEVIL sighting and a way for a sequel.

I don't think there'll be a twist in DEVIL, but I do believe that there will be a lot of Red Herrings and ambiguity to keep people guessing who the Devil is until the very end of the movie.

And a possibility of not showing the Devil at all, but I have to change my opinion sometimes cause that would leave the audience dissapointed.

I don't think that The Night Chronicles are made to eventually get a sequel?
Perhaps that after three movies, the concept of The Night Chronicles will go further with more movies, but I don't think Devil will recieve a sequel.
