The Happening is not bad at all. It is just what people's mind expects and does not turn out to be whatever they thought about it. Not really Shyamalan's fault.

I know enough not to go into a shyamalan movie with any preconceived notions, and I saw the movie twice. It had some good elements under the surface, but on the surface I have to agree it was not put together well.
