Lookin For A Song
« on: March 13, 2006, 04:29:35 PM »
Try as I might I can't find the song that Ivy sings to her sister anywhere. No title, no lyrics, no nothing. If you guys know what I mean, could you please help me out?

They say this one has a surprise ending.

I know which song you are talking about, and I always assumed it was an original song with lyrics by M. Night and melody for words and backing music by James Newton Howard. Of course that is total speculation  :D . If someone else wrote the song, it surely isn't credited. I wish it was on the soundtrack.

I would record the song for you, but I have my ban until July 15th.
Thats the only way I can think of some one "getting" it. If you have an audio recording program on your computer and your DVD player has a headphone output (and you have an audio cable) you can get it.

-Just take your cable and connect one end to the headphone output of you dvd player
-take the other into the line-in on the back of your computer.
-Go to that scene on the dvd
-press record on your audio recording program
-press play on you dvd player.

now you have a wav file the you can burn to cd. it seems complicated, but it is really easy. if you think you might have the right stuff to do it and you need help, just ask me.

I extracted the audio portion from the DVD where Ivy sings this song (i.e. perfect digital copy, not re-recorded from the sound card output).  If you own the DVD, I don't see any reason why I couldn't just e-mail the sound file to you, unless someone has objections to this.  If you ever see this post and you're still interested, let me know.

You're very welcome.  I'm glad I could share it with someone who appreciates it as much as I do. :)
