Shyamalan Takes Lady to Bristol Township

The Bristol Pilot reports that writer/director M. Night Shyamalan (The Village, Signs, The Sixth Sense) will film his next project, The Lady in the Water, at Bristol Township:

According to Sharon Pinkenson, executive director of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, film crews have already been setting up shop in Levittown as part of the pre-production phase and filming will most likely being in late August.

“[The film crew was] looking for a large, empty facility that had land attached to it and office space so they could set up production there,” Pinkenson said. Out by the old 3M building and the Bristol Industrial Park is the site that “best suited their needs,” she said.

The location will serve as a headquarters and a back drop for filming, she added.

The Warner Bros. fantasy thriller centers on the superintendent of an apartment building who finds a rare type of sea nymph swimming in the apartment pool. The film is scheduled for a July 21, 2006 release.

Shyamalan was eyeing his The Village star Bryce Dallas Howard for the role of the The Lady and Paul Giamatti as the superintendent.
