We’ve been asked to invite you to enter a contest for the film “The Illusionist.”  We thought that you would probably enjoy this contest, as it involves a bit of creativity on your part.  You have to video tape yourself doing a magic trick, and submit it!  Good Luck!

Entry Conditions. This contest available only to those persons, 18 or older, who are legal residents of the United States or the District of Columbia , and may only be entered from one of those locations. INTERNET ACCESS AND EMAIL ADDRESS REQUIRED TO ENTER. FREE INTERNET ACCESS AND EMAIL ADDRESSES ARE AVAILABLE AT MANY PUBLIC LIBRARIES.
Employees of Sponsor, any affiliate of Sponsor, any of their advertising or promotional agencies, any Sponsor of any prize offered in this contest or any business or entity involved in the development, production, implementation, administration or fulfillment of this contest, and their immediate family members (meaning spouses, parents, siblings and children living in th e s ame household) are not eligible to enter or win.
Entry Timeframe: Contest begins December 22, 2006 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Time and ends January 31, 2007 , 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
How to Enter: Navigate the Internet to www.illusionistdvd.com and click onto the enter link to be connected to the Contest Registration Form. Complete all requested info rmation. You will be directed to submit your video in Quicktime (MOV), Windows Media (WMV), Audio Video Interleave (AVI), MPEG 1, MPEG 2 or MPEG 4 format. Video cannot exceed a max size of 200 MB or run longer than one minute (60 seconds.)
You must be the videographer of the video you submit and have the permission of any person used in the video. Video must b e s ubmitted by 11:59:59 p.m. PT on 1/31/07 , when the contest ends. Entries without all of the required blanks completed will be disqualified. All late, lost, or incomplete entries are not considered valid entries. Any form of entry, other than as specified in these rules (including but not limited to automated, copied, third-party or mechanically reproduced entries) is prohibited and they will be disqualified. Sponsor will be collecting personal data about participants when they register and enter the contest. By participating in the contest, entrants agree to all of the terms and conditions of the privacy policies of the Sponsor. By entering you agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the Sponsor which will be final and binding in all respects. The official rules will be posted at the contest website throughout the contest.

Prize: One (1) Grand Prize: ATrip to the Magic Castle in Los Angeles . Prize consists of: round trip coach air transportation for two (2) between Los Angeles airport and major airport in U.S. nearest winner’s home, 3-day/2-night standard room accommodations at the Magic Castle Hotel, dinner show for two at The Magic Castle, mid-size rental car days (winner or designated travel companion driver must meet standard age, credit and other requirements for rental car; gasoline, excess mileage and insurance are winner’s responsibility), all hotel taxes, plus $250 spending money (approx. retail value $4,000, actual value may vary depending on winner’s departure date/time and city). Travel times and flights subject to availability; certain blackout dates may apply. Travel must be on one itinerary and must be completed before 12/31/07 . A major credit card will be required at hotel check-in to cover any miscellaneous expenses. Four (4) First Prizes: A Signed Illusionist One-Sheet (approximate retail value $100.) Prizes may not be transferred. If any prize becomes unavailable, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value. Taxes and any expenses not listed above are responsibility of winner. Allow 4-6 weeks after validation for receipt or arrangement of receipt of prize. The Magic Castle is not a sponsor of this promotion.
Judging/Winner Selection: Winners will b e s elected by a panel of judges using the following criteria: creativity and originality of video (50%); quality and originality of magic trick (50%). Winners will b e s elected on or about 2/28/07.
Prize Acceptance . Winner(s) must complete, execute and return an affidavit confirming the winner’s identification and eligibility, a Liability Release and Publicity/Advertising Release. If such documents are not returned within ten (10) days of the dat e s ent, or if any prize notification is returned as non-deliverable or any winner if found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these official rules, disqualification may result. If any winner is a minor under the laws of his/her state of residence, his/her parent or legal guardian must sign all required documents. Failure to sign and return these forms when requested may result in disqualification and th e s election of an alternate winner. In the event of a dispute as to identity of any online entrant, entrant will be deemed the individual named on the online entry form.
Acceptance of a prize will constitute permission to use winner’s name, hometown, likeness, photograph, statements or prize info rmation for advertising and publicity purposes worldwide without limitation and without additional compensation, except where prohibited. Sponsor, their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents will not be responsible any and all liability for any injury, loss or damage of any kind to or of any person or property (including death of any person), arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize, participation in any contest related activity, or participation in this contest. This contest is void where prohibited or restricted. All submissions become property of Sponsor and will not be returned. No correspondence about submissions will be answered. By entering, you grant permission to Sponsor and its agents and agencies the right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify your entry video in any way, in any and all media worldwide, without limitation, and also constitutes your irrevocable assignment and transfer to Sponsor of all right, title and interest in the entry video, including without limitation, all copyrights, without further consideration. By entering you warrant and represent that you are the photographer of th e s ubmitted video/slid e s how and that you have obtained all permission necessary for Sponsor to publish or use your video in any media worldwide, including but not limited to permission from all persons depicted in your video and from any holder of copyrights, trademarks or other rights in materials or other items depicted in your video. By entering, you also agree that Sponsors may publish your name and entry video on Sponsor’s website or in such other media or formats as Sponsor may elect without further compensation. By entering, you also agree to confirm any of the above in writing.
Validations: By taking part in this promotion, you agree to be bound by these rules and all decisions of the judges. Video must be taken by entrant. Video must be original, non-professional, and must not have been previously published or won any previous award, and must not contain any material that would infringe upon third party rights if used in advertising. Entries may be disqualified if video contains materials trademarked, copyrighted, used or submitted elsewhere, or any obscene, defamatory or other offensive or inappropriate material. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries which Sponsor, at its sole discretion, determines to be inconsistent with its corporat e s tandards, reputation or consumer expectations. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, stolen or misdirected mail or entries or any failure or unavailability of hardware, software, electronic communications or Internet uploading or other connections. If integrity of Contest is compromised in any manner, Sponsor reserves the right to modify Contest and judge entries received that are unaffected by the problem. Submissions void if incomplete, not legible, or if they contain errors or do not comply strictly with all requirements in these rules.

    They figured that fans of M. Night might be interested. I've not seen the movie myself, but am planning on it. Seemed a good opportunity to help bring in some more readers, and with the slow news, it adds something new!

    I am new, this is my first post,I was on vacation JAN 10 to the 15, 2007, ON the 10th I saw this movie “The Illusionist”, Great movie BTW.And on Jan 15th at PHL airport I THINK I saw M.N.S~ It is almost TOO strange that that movie is on this website.
    Is he like 5'10″? And if it was him his hair was shorter.~T~
