Title: Batman : The Riddler's Time
Post by: Rohan on April 02, 2009, 10:10:14 AM
Okay, I am little big obsessed with the character of JOKER. I cannot get it out of my mind, I really want to have his life size statue in my house if there is one or will be one in future for sale.

Well, the next batman, I know Christopher Nolan is going to direct this one and I heard it will be his last batman movie. The batman's enemy is THE RIDDLER, who is not much violent and physical, but still challenges THE BATMAN.

I came with a title that it should be titled BATMAN: The Riddler's Time.

I think this will be fun to have our own fan made titles and discuss the games that this character likes to play and also which actor would be perfect to play THE RIDDLER.

I know, Jim Carrey already played this character in 1995 batman movie. In Christopher's version, I think JOHNNY DEPP is the perfect guy to play THE RIDDLER.

I actually don't think Johnny Depp would look good in any Batman movie. We had a little bit of a Depp-overkill lately (well, not as much as Jason Strattham, but that's a different story). Besides that, everyone says he can act like The Riddler, but since we all know he can, I think everyone will be dissapointed by him. We know he can do that trick, we've seen it before.
I'd rather see a new actor play The Riddler, just like Heath Ledger was (to me). Before I saw the trailer of The Dark Knight, I couldn't picture myself Heath as The Joker!

This sounds like a fun thread. I thought the next film should be titled "Batman: The Caped Crusader", or just "The Caped Crusader", but that might sound a little like "The Dark Knight". You know what would be funny, if they named it "Batman Again". Before TDK was released, I was thinking they would call it that after the title "Batman Begins", but that would be weird. I think Depp is perfect for "The Riddler", by the way.

Erik. You have anyone else in mind to play THE RIDDLER. I think DEPP is perfect for it. He has that look and character of wierd guy. I love his character in SECRET WINDOW. Thats why I think Johnny Depp is perfect for this role.

I've tried to picture in my mind who could play The Riddler and I think Steve Buscemi could do it.But I'm quite sure Nolan will choose a younger actor for this role.
Batman: Gotham Hero would be a good title to me,if it wasn't similar to the anime series  ;D

I agree that he's perfect for the role, and that makes him not my first choise. We know he can play The Riddler, we've seen his performances of a comparable role (Jack Sparrow, Sweeny Todd). Because of that, I think that if Depp played the role, I would be dissapointed afterwards. He wouldn't have given anything new. We've seen the trick before!
Now the question about someone else, I didn't have anyone in mind, but based on the film In Bruges, I think Collin Farrel might work, but probably Steve Buscemi (like Marco said) will be even better!
I don't know, but I have faith in Christopher Nolan!

I thought about it last night, besides Johnny Depp my second choice is BEN FOSTER. He is good in 3:10 To Yuma and also HOSTAGE. Makes a perfect villian, young and very cunning. He got that face of the RIDDLER.

Hey Erik! ;D

"Batman: Legend", was a title I was thinking. But I'm still thinking that "Batman: The Caped Crusader" sounds good.

At the end of TDK becomes Batman a villan to the people of Gotham, so he has to make a comeback so that everyone likes Batman again!

Riddle me this, Batman!
What do you call a man who trained in martal arts, has two identities, and dresses in a costume of what he fears the most? A freak who's too much of a coward to show his face!

I would love to play the Riddler myself. But if I can't, I would have Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) play it. I don't know but there is just something about him. Like how Heath Ledger was a suprise for the Joker but he did it really well. And I think Rupert has the same potental.

As for the title I have a few ideas:
* The Batman?
* An Enigma for Batman
* A Bat's Mind is an Enigma
* Riddle Me This?
* Batman's indentiy is an enigma
* The Dark Knight:An Enigma

The first one goes with the Riddler's "?" trademark. The ones with the word 'enigma', which means mysterious, unexplainable, a riddle or difficult problem, or a mysterious and secretive person; whom the riddler's real name is Edward Nigma. And "Riddle Me This" is the famous wording The Riddler always says.

Back to a more serious note. I think the movie will simply be titled, 'The Batman'.
Here is a list of villains and my consept of the movie.

- The Riddler
- Catwoman
- Scarecrow
- Use images of Heath Ledger's Joker in mind traps set by The Riddler
- Clayface, as an trick image in another one of The Riddler's traps
- Red Hood (maybe), and not the Joker version either

The Scarecrow (or the Red Hood) tries to become the controler of all of Gotham's Mobs. He gets involved with a material-loving woman. After she steals millions from him. He attemps to murder her; she excapes unharmed and then takes on the 'Catwoman' persona from then on. Meanwhile, Edward Nigma, an employee at Wayne Interprises, is  secretly a second hand of the mob. When he rips off the mob he disappears. In the mix of stoping the mob, Batman crosses paths with Catwoman and form a friend-and-foe relationship. The Riddler makes his first apperance after police officers and mob bosses started to disappear one by one. The Riddler, who is trying to live up to the Joker but setup a new world order, and dictate over it, opposite of the Joker's total anarchy plan. He uses difficult puzzles, problems, and riddles to lure people into his trap. After he traps Batman, he find out his secret identity. He then attemps to detroy Wayne Inderprises. Catwomans desides to set aside her selfish theft and help Batman. In a failed attemt to stop the bomb from going off. Catwoman tricks the Riddler into the building and it explodes with the two inside. Bruce yet feels responcible for another person's death until Catwoman appears from out of the rubble, and tells Batman that the Riddler's dead. Before Catwoman leaves, Batman asks her where's she heading. She replies that she has unfinnish buisness to attend to (to get back at the Scareceow, or Red Hood).
