I figured it would get technical awards, but I just wasn't sure about the bigger awards.
I see the world Lucius Hunt, just not the way you see it.

THE ROAD was the most important movie of 2009, it was mentioned in few articles which were released prior to its release last year. And, in my opinion THE ROAD is a very important movie and I am saying that, for its directed masterfully, written for screen in a very mannerable fashion the way adaption
should be. Not nominated for any awards this year I was really saddened. Then come THE HURT LOCKER. I knew it from the moment I walked out after watching THL that this will definately get some awards and recognitions.

THE HURT LOCKER VS AVATAR.

After a long time I was satisfied by the ACADEMY's decisions. They voted THE HURT LOCKER for the best picture, Mark Boal for best screenplay writer and Kathryn Bigelow for best director. Actually, for best woman director for the very first time. This is historical. KATHRYN tackles a very important subject and which I thought deserves more awards and recognition than AVATAR. James Cameron is a master director, but AVATAR like many were expecting to win is not the perfect and award deserving film. The story of AVATAR is weak and it is not original. Yes, some technical awards are good, but best picture and best director AVATAR was not the perfect nominee. I think ACADEMY should've included THE ROAD regardless of its limited release.

The nominations are based on it's members, and maybe many of them didn't see the Road so they didn't nominate it.

It's just a thought.  Unfortunately, I haven't even seen The Road yet, I never got to see it in theaters, and now I have to wait for it to come out on DVD.
