Another very good movie is Moon,by Duncan Jones (I read somewhere he's the son of David Bowie). It's some sort of independent movie but truely well done, with a great Sam Rockwell playing. One of the best sci-fi movie recently made.
I haven't seen District 9 yet,but I think should be very good,too.

Yeah I just watched Moon yeah thought it was good. Indeed Duncan Jones is the son of David Bowie, and yeah apart from a couple of slightly dodgy special effects shots it is solid.

Sam Rockwell plays 2 characters in the film, and there's a great part where one asks the other to shake is hand, and he refuses, which left me thinking they didn't do it just because it was too difficult an effects shot.

Next scene the play table tennis against each other. Ouch.

But yeah pretty cool story as well.

While I'm here - 2001: A Space Odyssey was awful. Fast forwarded through most of it. Solaris was better - felt like it could have been more though.

I still maintain Sunshine is one of the best Sci-Fi's. Couple of cheeky nods towards Sunshine in Moon as well I think, feel it's too big a coincidence for Sam to be dancing to "Walking on Sunshine" at one point lol.

I want to see Sunshine, but I haven't been able to.
I see the world Lucius Hunt, just not the way you see it.
