Night to make Original Thriller between Airbender Films?

An article on UGO reports something very simple.  M. Night Shyamalan plans to direct all three of the Airbender films in the planned trilogy, but prior to the second one, he wants to direct a smaller-budgeted thriller.  The thriller is not Unbreakable 2, but he hopes to get to that one day.  He knows that Bruce Willis would love to do it as well.  This one, however, would likely be an original idea.

What would it be about? No hints were given, and we can only speculate.  It could be just about anything, though I hear it might be contingent on if the LAST AIRBENDER 2 is given the greenlight first.  What topics would you like to see Night tackle?

  1. I would love to see him do a Bigfoot story. Seriously, I think he could make a flipping scary movie about that!

  2. What would I like Night to do next? He’s done kids who see spirits, superheroes, aliens and crop circles, 19th century beasties, sea nymphs and plant zombies. My vote is for Unbreakable 2 but if that’s not in the cards, how about some kind of supernatural plot that takes place in Philadelphia? And he should cameo in it. And there should be some kind of in-joke about one of his other movies. And there could even be a twist ending of some kind. I’m not much help.

  3. I think Night should work with a character that’s a grave digger…a lot can happen in my opinion.

  4. This is FANTASTIC news! My only reservation about him doing the Avatar movies was that it would prevent him from doing his own material. Yay!
