An Australian based VFX company known as Iloura has won work on After Earth. The company is currently working on the sci-fi film and has 150 shots and one of five or six vendors are working on the big budget film. Business development and marketing director, Caroline Pitcher told Encore: “We are starting on a package of 150 shots and that will grow over the period of the project. We’ve started work already and we will deliver final shots in the first quarter of 2013.”
The majority of Iloura’s work will be creature animations as well as matte painting and VFX scenes.
This work for VFX Company is an extension partnership with US-based Creative Cartel and won the work off the back of Omnilab Company’s work on Seth MacFarlane’s Ted, which is currently playing in theatres. The film has also cast Australian actor Lincoln Lewis of Underbelly and Tricky Business and The Slap’s Sophie Okonedo.
