Night Working on a New Film

Writer-director M. Night Shyamalan on the set of "Glass," the third part of his trilogy that began with 2000’s "Unbreakable" and continued with 2016’s "Split."

While it’s a bit too early, but it’s always great to hear back from Night that he’s working on a new project, which is a feature length idea he’s currently outlining. Night announced it recently on his twitter account with a short sentence that reads: “Outlining new film… Has a little fun sci-fi bent. Feels so good to begin a new story.”

Last time we reported that maybe Night is working on his script, ‘Labor of Love.’ That news was shared by Indiewire at first. However, it has not been confirmed. Perhaps, it’s because it’s still too early. Or, who knows, this new film he’s outlining could be a totally fresh idea that has nothing to do with ‘Labor of Love.’ I think it’s not, because it has sci-fi elements, but again, it’s story-telling and creativity, so it is possible. And since it is Night himself doing this, that’s what makes it intriguing. If you ask me, I’d say it’s a thriller with sci-fi elements, which Night has tackled in the past. His 2002 masterpiece, ‘Signs,’ comes to mind.

There’s plenty of time to speculate. Share your thoughts with us on this subject in the comments section below.
